Deep in the Heart of the Garden of England - Kent - in a small back garden just off the A2, a new mutant life form has been spotted growing amongst the flowers and shrub
Artists Sioux Peto and Colin Barnard first encountered this new growth whilst gardening in the early spring and have said ”We were so surprised to see this, apparently it the first of it kind. It’s so deadly. If its not stopped now it will take over our countryside in a matter of years. We have no idea how it got here or how to stop it - we tried throwing it away but it keeps coming back - We need your help”
Interested parties can now view this phenomenon at the Polka Dot Art Centre in Teynham but please be aware of the dangers!
This project is to create awareness about littering.
Nature is a forgiving and beneficial force that supports and gives us life, but we are abusing it.
Natures takes the waste that we leave in our streets and countryside back into itself - it absorbs the chemicals and poisons, but for how long?
This might be our future - mutated growths that will replace and choke our vegetation growing everywhere and over everything. Taking over our planet and producing no food or oxygen
But we can do something about it now.
The Polka Dot is creating a garden made out of rubbish. A visually stunning and interesting space that we hope will stimutate your thought processes on this subject
